Rationale
| |
The Grade 6 teacher developed this 3-week unit around the creation and display of the students own images and artwork in a 3D Art
Gallery. The unit incorporates the use of a digital camera, scanning, animation, drawing and designing.
Whilst Kahootz was used to display the end result of their work, the unit involved a number of non-computer related tasks and skills.

Student Tasks
| |
| |
The class was provided with
an activity worksheet that explained that they needed to complete the following:
Scan artwork created by students. |
Take and process digital camera photos. |
Use Kahootz ‘Notepad’ tools to create digital artwork. |
Select an appropriate Kahootz ‘World’ as the venue for the art gallery. |
Choose appropriate ‘Objects’ to display the art work (e.g. billboards, canvases, etc). |
Design the layout for the art exhibition. |
Use Kahootz ‘Swatching’ function to apply art to the various textures. |
Animate objects (e.g. people viewing art, rotating billboards, etc). |
Create a ‘fly-through’ that provides a virtual tour of the gallery. |

| |
| |
Exploring design and presentation concepts. |
Developing skills in the creation and manipulation of digital art. |
Experimenting with various types of animation techniques. |
Objects required enlarging or reducing, introducing ideas of multiplication and ratio. |
Gaining confidence in concepts such as scale, speed and estimation. |
| |
Collaborative Potential
| |
| |
Each art gallery can be shared with and explored by other students and classrooms. |
Other students may add to or enhance an existing gallery. |
Galleries based around similar themes may be compiled into a linkable collection. |
Teachers could upload the class Xpressions to a Kahootz Project Space and ask other classes to submit their own. |
Teachers could arrange for feedback from students in other classes via the Kahootz Teacher Message Forum. |
