Computer Access Duration
   
  3 computers in classroom, plus access to computer lab once a week.

  3 weeks. The students worked in groups of 3 and nearing completion of the project, students accessed computer lab at lunchtime.
   
Rationale
   
This 3-week unit was designed to give students an opportunity to create an Aboriginal Dreamtime story as an animation. It was made into a movie and shown during Book Week.
   
Student Tasks
   
 
Select a suitable Dreamtime story to animate
Break the story into its main components
Create a title page
Write simple text
Select appropriate outback scene
Keypoint birds and insect
Use swatching tools for birds
Use notepad for drawing colours
Add sounds
Link scenes using appropriate timing to give the viewer time to read the story

Watch each others "Moving Books" and compare stories and techniques
Explore various techniques used by each group ie notepad, sounds swatching
Experimented with the insertion of other software types eg MS Powerpoint.

The stories were shared with their class and with the school during Book Week
