Rationale
| |
This unit integrates aspects across the Key Learning Areas of English, Society and Environment and Mathematics.
It involves students researching the different forms of land-based transportation (e.g. walking, running, skating, cycling, car, wheelchair, etc) that can be used and re-create this within an Xpression.
The classroom teacher came up with the idea after investigating the Transport Object category.

Student Tasks
| |
| |
The class was provided with an activity outline by the teacher that required them to produce the following by the end of the 4 weeks:
Research information regarding how people get around on land. |
Choose a Kahootz 'world' that will be an appropriate setting. |
Combine the use of transport-related Objects with keypoint animation to show a vibrant street-scene. |
Use grouping to attach people to Objects. (e.g. A child on a skateboard) |
Place appropriate sounds on the objects. |

Involvement for Xpression Participant
| |
| |
Each participant needs to find out how many modes of transport are represented in the Scene. They will need to explore the World to discover this. |
Interrogate the type of Object and World keypoint animation used. |
Examine the timing of the keypoint animation to see how collisions have been avoided. |
| |
Learning Outcomes for Student Creator
| |
| |
Researching modes of transport. |
Calculating a range of synchronised keypoint animations. |
Ensuring that the multiple moving Objects do not collide. |
Explore the different uses of grouping Objects. |
Allows the student to demonstrate their understanding of spatial concepts. |
| |
Collaborative Potential
| |
| |
Students can add other forms of transportation such as air, sea or space to the Xpression. |
The timing of the keypoint animations can be changed to gauge the effect. |
The class could challenge others to come up with new forms of animation in the form of inventions. |
