Rationale
| |
Needed an easy theme that would be interesting for High School students to be able to develop Kahootz skills when they have not produced them before.

Student Tasks
| |
| |
Each student were shown via digital projector how to:
Fly through a world task.
| |
Each student then had to make a 2 scene world and master these 2 tasks before proceeding.
Walk a person across a room and get them to sit down on a sofa.
| |
Students were then taught how to:
Simulate 3D blood using a tomato and how to make a gun by changing the colour and shape of a hairdryer.
Select only portions of an animation to get the desired motion - ie use a portion of the 'talk on mobile phone animation' for drawing and aiming a gun. |
How to link scenes and sound etc.
| |
Students are then given the major task to:
Make a multi-scene crime scene animation.

Learning Outcomes for Student Creator
| |
| |
Learn basic-advanced Kahootz skills.
Story telling - beginning, main story, end.
3D navigation, manipulation, key-frame concept.
Animation literacy.
| |
Collaborative Potential
| |
| |
A longer story could be dreamed up where students each produce different scenes of the story. |
Choose your own adventure could be compiled by combining multiple crime scenes.
A walk through crime scene could be produced where clicking on vital evidence links to the next scene etc. Only by following the correct clues do you get to the end.
