Rationale
| |
Students have been studying a WW1 novel in English. They were required to re-create a Scene from the novel in Kahootz.
They had to research the historical facts needed to represent the Scene and ensure that appropriate Kahootz Worlds and Objects were chosen.
The task also required the students to take on the role of a film director. How best could the Scene be represented? What camera angles were
required? How could Swatching be used to create a sense of mood and atmosphere? How can the historical period be re-created through the use
of Swatching, Grouping and Cloning?

Student Tasks
| |
| |
Research the historical setting for the Scene. |
Choose appropriate Worlds and use Swatching to create historical period. |
Represent people, modes of transport, terrain through selection
of appropriate Objects. |
Use Object and World Keypoints to create a cinematic 'movie'
that takes the viewer through the Scene. |

Learning Outcomes for Student Creator
| |
| |
Researching information relevant to the WW1 novel. |
Creating a realistic 3D representation of the WW1 Scene. |
Experiment with Scenes to see how they can be adapted
changed or modified through the use of Objects, animation, resizing and notepad. |
Display various types of animation techniques. |
Exhibit an understanding of scale, distance and order. |
| |
Collaborative Potential
| |
| |
Students have already
deconstructed each others Xpression to see what animation and Swatching techniques have been used. |
We intend to share our Xpressions
with schools overseas and interstate. |
